PHOTOGRAPHIC TRAVEL IN MAGIC ANDALUSIA (SPAIN)

All included photo trip to the magic Andalusia

This photo trip to the unknown Andalusia takes you to different and varied landscapes, towns and villages. The huge colour contrasts are spectacular. During your journey you will stay, if you were a local, in a luxurious cave house in Guadix, which is a special experience in itself. The trip is planned on a date that has normally possibilities for enjoying the autumn colours.

This landscape has a great attraction due to its special and varied appearances including surprising desert landscapes, pristine volcanic coasts and beaches, snow-capped mountains, vast forests with beautiful autumn colours, spectacular rock landscapes, rivers and lakes and a remarkable flora and fauna. These and the extensive geological and archaeological heritage are the ingredients of this photo trip.

Mix of culture, photography and nature

This journey takes us through the most varied and contrasted landscapes on routes that begin where the roads of the travel brochures end, an intense experience with a mix of culture, photography and nature. The trip aims to take the participants to the most interesting places of these landscapes, at the most spectacular and photogenic moments.

At the start of the week we organize a workshop on landscape photography, adapted to the needs of the participants. We also plan an evening during the week to view and discuss the pictures taken by the participants. Besides that it is nice to also see the pictures of the fellow photographers, it is also very educational and inspiring.

The day program is an indication. Of course we try to visit all the mentioned locations but will always have to anticipate the weather conditions and if necessary switch locations. If there is time left we can also propose additional locations. Some flexibility of the participants is required.

Guidance

Peter Manschot is an experienced professional photographer and guide, has been living for more than 20 years in Andalusia and published 6 photo books about this region. A selection of his work can be found at www.petermanschot.com

Program

Day 1 Arrival

Arrival at Málaga airport. Transfer to the comfortable cave houses of Cuevas la Granja in Benalua de Guadix.

Day 2 High mountains Sierra Nevada
This trip takes you to the Sierra Nevada today, with its deep valleys, impressive vantage points, extensive photogenic forests, and Spain’s highest snow-capped peaks. At this time of year, the autumn colours of the forests give us the opportunity to take beautiful colourful and contrasting photos here.

Day 3 Desert lake
Today we head to a lake in the middle of the bad lands with impressive views and a beautiful coloured setting. On our way we will visit also some ravines with splendid desert details.

Day 4 Volcanic coasts

We visit the pristine volcanic beach of the Cabo de Gata nature park, with beautiful beaches and rocky coasts, picturesque fishing villages, salt pans and many bird species. Cabo de Gata is Europe´s driest place with many endemic species of plants.

Day 5 The «Tuscany» of Andalusia

Visit to the «Tuscany» of Andalusia; locations of undulated colourful cultural landscapes that are not inferior to the famous northern Italian landscapes in terms of photographic interest.

General information

The trip is organized together with the Dutch agency Fotoreisspecialist (www.fotoreisspecialist.nl), specialized in photographic travel with extensive experience in photographing and organizing trips to this destination. During the trip we will hold some theoretical photography workshops and analyse the images of the participants made during the trip.

The journey includes transport during the trip, an accompanying professional photographer and a guide, accommodation in full board (breakfast, picnic and dinner with three courses), in a room with private bathroom.

This journey is suitable for any photographic level.

Although it is not indispensable, we recommend having basic knowledge of photography and a DSLR camera to get more out of the workshops.

To get to the photographic locations some itineraries go along unpaved roads or mountain tracks. Therefore we recommend that the participants are used to (short) walking in the natural environment.
