GEOPARQUE CUATERNARIO – DESERT OF GORAFE (GUADIX)
In this desert area can enjoy the incredible desert landscapes of the Hoya de Guadix.
A road leads us miraculously among impressive gorges to bring us into the amazing area of the Bad-Lands.
With each step the landscape becomes more spectacular with its large gullies and sandstone cliffs of different colours forming a spectacular desert that resembles landscapes of films and documentaries. We enjoy spectacular views to 360 degrees to the five mountain ranges, much of the year covered in snow, forming an impressive contrast with the desert landscape, in one of the places with the greatest silence in Europe that fully invites disconnection, relaxation and enjoyment and connection and the feeling of being part of this great place.
We also visit a hot springs ditch which has grown upwards naturally for thousands of years, reaching today a considerable height and forming some beautiful waterfalls.
About the places to visit:
On the route of the wilderness we invite you to know and live the incredible desert landscapes of the Hoya de Guadix. We started our route in a small picturesque village with impressive large desert cliffs that surround it. A road leads miraculously among the huge ravines with beautiful views of the village. We continue our adventure to get to a point where a wide path introduces us to the amazing area of the Bad-Lands. With each step the landscape becomes more spectacular, with its large gullies and formations of sandstone in different colours forming a spectacular desert set that resembles the landscapes of films and documentaries.
About the workshops:
The trips and workshops are taught by two teachers with demonstrated experience in landscape and night photography, and are suitable for a wide audience; from those wanting to know and visit interesting places, the enthusiastic amateur trying to improve his skills up to the professional who seeks to expand his photographic portfolio.
The workshops seek to familiarize participants with different theoretical and practical aspects of the photography of night and landscape photography and prepare them for the different situations and possibilities on the landscapes.
Several photography manuals are provided to students in the course. Apart from the essential technical part the workshops emphasize much on the subject of the composition as well as on the language of artistic expression and on the creative empowerment.
The photographic excursions are focused on learning and applying the concepts previously discussed in the theoretical workshops, apart from showing participants spectacular places from the, cultural, natural and scenic point of view and spend a pleasant stay in them, accompanied by two photographic experts who know the area and who are fully available for any questions and advice.
The workshop includes in addition viewings of the work carried out by the students, in which technical and aesthetic aspects of the images are discussed, accompanied by advice on how to improve in both aspects.
Although it is not essential to assist, it is recommended to go with basic knowledge of photography and DSLR camera, tripod and filters to take advantage of the workshops.
Polarizing filters and the neutral grey filter of a minimum of 6 stops are helpful for this landscape photography.

How to get there?
To reach the places to portray, some routes pass through not asphalted roads, normally passable for a car in normal conditions and in some cases it can be necessary to make some journeys on foot so we recommend that participants are used to walk in Nature.
Observation: The realization of the photographs depends quite a lot of the weather on the ground. Andalusia has a good climate with many sunny hours and few days of rain, however the weather can vary.
Andalus Phototour reserves the right to modify schedules and routes where circumstances do require (e.g.. Rain, bad state access roads) for the benefit of the participants and their photos.
El alojamiento será en Las Cuevas la Granja (Benalúa de Guadix)
